Location
The 82nd ADEA Annual Session and Exhibition will be held March 59, 2005 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Registration
The deadline for preregistration is February 4, 2005. After this date, please register on-site at the ADEA registration area in the Baltimore Convention Center.
Speakers and Poster Presenters:All speakers and poster presenters are required to register and pay the appropriate registration fee. Speakers must also complete a speaker agreement form and conflict-of-interest statement, which are mailed to program organizers in advance.
Exhibitors: The price of booth space includes two booth-only badges, which allow access to the exhibit floor. For full conference participation, exhibitors must be registered.
House of Delegates
The ADEA House of Delegates consists of the Board of Directors and voting members of the Associations seven councils. Delegates unable to attend a House session or who serve in the House in two or more roles (for example, as a member of the Council of Faculties and Council of Sections) may appoint designates to represent them as needed. Delegates from the Councils of Allied Dental Program Directors, Hospitals and Advanced Education Programs, and Students must appoint designates who are members of their council. Delegates from the Council of Sections must appoint the secretary or immediate past chair of their section. Delegates from the Councils of Deans and Faculties must appoint individuals from their institutions. Delegates representing two or more councils in the House must decide which council they wish to represent and then appoint a designate(s) for the other council(s) according to the foregoing guidelines.
The opening session of the House of Delegates will take place on Saturday, March 5, 4:005:00 pm. The closing session will take place on Wednesday, March 9, 12:00 noon1:30 pm.
IADR/AADR Annual Meeting
The IADR/AADR Annual Meeting will be held March 1013, 2005 in Baltimore. For information, call 703-548-0066 or visit www.iadr.org. ADEA will extend programming on March 8, 9, and 10, and IADR/AADR will begin programming on March 8 so that areas of mutual interest can be explored. In addition to joint symposia, attendees will be able to experience workshops and social functions offered by each organization.
ACFD/AFDC Annual Meetings
Each year, the Association of Canadian Faculties of Dentistry/LAssociation des Facultiés Dentaires du Canada (ACFD/AFDC) Board of Directors meets at the ADEA Annual Session. In alternate years, the ACFD/ AFDC Annual General Meeting is also held in conjunction with the ADEA Annual Session. The ACFD/AFDC represents all full- and part-time academic members of the ten Canadian university-based dental programs (University of British Columbia, University of Alberta, University of Saskatchewan, University of Manitoba, University of Western Ontario, University of Toronto, Université de Montréal, McGill University, Université Laval, and Dalhousie University). The ACFD/AFDCs objectives are to promote excellence in university-based teaching, research, and management through seminars, continuing education courses, symposia, and conferences; to attract financial support for university-based programs; and to collaborate with government agencies, related associations, and other interested parties to advance university-based dental education. The ACFD/AFDC strives to expedite an exchange of information and viewpoints on important issues affecting its members. For further information about the ACFD/AFDC, visit www.acfd.ca/.
Continuing Education Credits
ADEA is an American Dental Association Continuing Education Recognized Provider (CERP). Selected programs and activities of the Annual Session are eligible for CERP credit. The CE credits for each program or workshop are listed with the descriptions in this program.
Exhibition and Poster Sessions
More than seventy companies will exhibit at the 2005 Annual Session and Exhibition. By visiting the Exhibit Hall in the convention center, you will see the latest in products, services, technological innovations, and educational programs and have an opportunity to learn more from corporate suppliers of goods and services. The Exhibit Hall will be open on Monday, March 7, 12:00 noon5:00 pm and Tuesday, March 8, 12:00 noon4:00 pm.
Poster Sessions will also be held in the Exhibit Hall. These sessions are scheduled in five time blocks, each featuring new posters, on both days of the exhibition. The time blocks are:

Affiliated Programs
ADEA welcomes several associations, agencies, societies, and organizations that are either providing educational programming or holding meetings in conjunction with the Annual Session.
ADEA TechnoFair and Expo 2005
Tuesday, March 8, 1:005:00 pm
The ADEA TechnoFair and Expo are now in their sixth year! This successful and flourishing program will feature both the Tech Traks, with lecture-style presentations grouped in thematic tracks, and the Expo, which features software and the application of technology (e-table clinics). Diverse topics including instruction, clinical and administrative information systems, applications, and other themes will demonstrate how computer technology can be integrated into dental education.
Regional Predental Advisors Workshop
This one-day regional workshop is targeted toward predental advisors, admissions and financial aid officers, and guidance and career counselors from local and school districts. The sessions will include presentations and working groups to enhance student recruitment and admissions efforts. This workshop carries 6 CE credits. Preregistration is required.
Hotels
Hotel reservations will be managed by Laser Registration. The deadline for reservations is Thursday, February 3, 2005. Make your reservation by filling out and returning the hotel form on page 195 or online at www.adea.org. The ADEA Central Office will not make your reservation for you. See the hotel form for room rates and important details. Reservations require a one nights deposit with all applicable taxes. The standard check-in time is 4:00 pm; check-out time is 12:00 noon. Reservations made after the deadline are subject to availability. Cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to arrival date. The following hotels have been chosen for the meeting:

Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) is approximately eight miles (20-minute drive) southeast of the Inner Harbor hotels. Many forms of transportation are available. All pick up passengers at the baggage level of the airport in the second curb area. Possible methods of transportation are:
Airport Shuttle
The Airport Shuttle offers door-to-door reservation service. Arriving passengers flights are tracked, and passengers are met at curbside. Vans carry seven to ten passengers. Service to the Inner Harbor hotels is around $23 each way. Service is not available midnight to 3:00 am. Light Rail
Light rail service is available to downtown Baltimore from BWI. For schedules, call 410-539-5000, or visit www.mtamaryland.com. Hours of operation are 6:00 am1l:00 pm MondayFriday; 7:00 am11:00 pm Saturday; 11:00 am7:00 pm Sunday and holidays.
Taxi Service Operated by BWI Taxi Management, Inc.
The BWI taxi stand is located just outside the baggage claim area of the lower level of the terminal. The rate to Baltimore Inner Harbor hotels is around $23. Flat rates are illegal in Maryland.
