Dear ADEA Members and Friends:

On behalf of the ADEA Board of Directors, I am very pleased to invite you to the Association’s 84th Annual Session and Exhibition, March 17–21, 2007, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Traditionally, ADEA’s Annual Session marks our time for renewal and a flowering of knowledge. Our theme this year is "Creating Opportunities." It emphasizes the ability of ADEA members to provide mentorship and guidance to others, whether they are striving to advance dental education and research or seeking improvement in oral health specifically or health and quality of life generally.

This year, we have the special opportunity to not only revitalize our own work but also support the New Orleans community in its rebirth. This Annual Session is a fresh start for the many new ADEA members and a renewal for longtime members. The educational programs offered will invigorate us, and the opportunities to network and share information and ideas are extraordinary.

Our opening keynote will be presented by one of the most exciting thinkers and writers today, Dan Pink, author of A Whole New Mind. Pink will engage us in a conversation about the six essential aptitudes necessary for thriving in this emerging world. He’ll ask us to think about the reasons that "high tech" abilities are giving way to "high concept" and "high touch" talents. This is an opening session that will create all sorts of opportunities for you to think differently about the effect that you have on dental education.

ADEA has grown in stature to be widely recognized as the premier organization representing and serving the dental education community, and at this Annual Session we will bloom. It will be great to see you in New Orleans!

Dear ADEA Members and Friends:

On behalf of the Annual Session Planning Committee, I am honored to join President Kalkwarf in inviting you to the 84th Annual Session and Exhibition in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The pages that follow give you a sense of the breadth and variety of ADEA programming for the Annual Session. We know it can be a difficult task to choose among the Symposia, Lunch and Learns, Faculty Development Workshops, and Section and SIG programs, all reflecting an enormous array of issues immediately relevant to dental research and education. Don’t forget to reserve time for the Exhibit Hall, TechExpo, Regional Predental Advisors’ Workshop, Signature Series, Poster Presentations, and Discourse and Dessert, as well as governance activities such as the meetings of ADEA’s seven Councils and the House of Delegates.

Clearly you will be busy in New Orleans, but the Annual Session Planning Committee looks forward to welcoming you once you arrive. You can register now by visiting www.adea.org. We urge you to make your plans now to join us in March.
