Yes, when you complete the subscription process, you will receive a user name and a password. You are the only one licensed to use this password.
We have instructions for what to do if you forget your user name or your password. Details about how to do this will be included as part of the subscription process.
If your institution has a paper subscription, it will be eligible to have an electronic version of the journal as well. In so doing, you will automatically have access to the tables of contents, abstracts, full-text searching, full text display, PDFs, Medline and GenBank links, and future tables of contents. You'll also see a button at the top of the page confirming you're signed in as part of an institution.
If your institution does not have a paper subscription, it cannot get an electronic version of JDE. If you would like to have an institutional subscription, please contact your local librarian.
Yes, individuals and institutions will continue to be able to receive the paper version for the foreseeable future. At some time, the paper and electronic versions may be available as separate subscriptions.
Individual (Non-Member) subscriptions are available to individuals, providing them with a paper and electronic version of the journal. ADEA Members are eligible for Member Subscriptions to JDE, providing them with a paper and electronic version of the journal. Members and Non-Members may also have access to JDE Online through an Institutional Subscription. PLEASE NOTE: CURRENT subscribers to the Journal of Dental Education have access to the JDE online via a single individual user name and password. Your online subscription should be activated AS AN INDIVIDUAL. Institutions that wish to have access via IP address for your site MUST SUBSCRIBE AT THE NEW TIERED PRICING MODEL THAT MATCHES YOUR INSITUTION SIZE. Institutional Subscriptions are somewhat more limited than Member Subscriptions. The special member services are not available to non-member subscribers, and full-text access from off of the institution's network (e.g. home access) is not available. ADEA Members are the only individuals who can receive an electronic only subscription to JDE Online.
You may wish to apply for ADEA membership or you may wish to purchase an Individual (Non-Member) print subscription which provides access to the electronic version. Without a subscription you have access to Tables of contents, abstracts, and full text searching (without full text viewing) at no cost and without having to register.
Information about ADEA Membership and application forms are available from ADEA.
